Sr Chioma Ahanihu, a sister of the Living Word, is the founder of Our Lady Palm Oil Development (OLPODEV), a grassroots non-profit initiative in Umunokwu autonomous community, Okwuato, Aboh Mbaise L.G.A. Imo State in Nigeria. She is dedicated to empowering women and supporting youth through sustainable palm oil production. Her leadership is rooted in values of faith, resilience, and a vision for inclusive development. With a background in social work and psychotherapy, Sr Chioma brings a deep commitment to community well-being, economic empowerment, and social justice. She established OLPODEV to support families that are struggling to make ends meet by fostering dignity of labor and long-term livelihoods. This initiative also strengthens the capacity of women to process and market palm produce to improve their family’s well-being. It is under her rich experience in social work and community development that OLPODEV continues to expand its impact, fostering resilience, sustainability, and shared prosperity in rural communities.
